Vinyl pool in Tennessee has a Main drain with a 10 foot 1.5" flex pvc pipe that has been there for 10 years and we are replacing liner soon. Is it ok to leave it in there or will it cause any problems over next 10 years?? it is in gravel and clay. Pictures are from initial build. It is under poolcrete now.

It is impossible to say if the flex pvc line will last another 10 years. If it fails before the next liner replacement then you can plug it until you can repair it.

If it were me, I would just remove it. It is probably not doing much anyway. Pools can be maintained just fine without a MD.
