Made a huge mistake...need advice PLEASE

I had a similar issue with a slimmer that was going to stick out like that. I had them add a long step, the same depth as the skimmer box, and it turned out great! Steps are usually cheaper than decking. The 10’ step cost us less than $200 to add on. View attachment 159946
