I have Lueder stone coping around the spa that is doing the same thing. It was sealed initially and pitted, so I sanded it down and resealed it and it continues to pit. I don’t know if it’s from the salt or just water erosion due to being a soft stone. In hindsight I would have gone with something different.
My anecdotal reading from the forums is that there is a lot of trouble with Lueder stone due to how soft it is. Are there any success stories with people who have had Leuder for a long time?
We built 4 years ago with leuders coping and its ok, a few small spots that I guess would be pitting. Not sure I would choose it again. What bothers me more is the white efflorescence in winter time. We chose leuders because our friends with flagstone are always complaining about the big flakes coming off in the pool...only certain rocks though so who knows. We don't have SWG though.
