Hello - I’ve read a number of posts re lowering TA, but want to make sure I’m fully understanding the steps I need to take. Here are my numbers:

FC 6
TC 6.5
PH 7.3
TA 120
CH 225
CA 75
Salt 3500
Temp 82
24,200 gallon in ground pool Cleveland, Ohio

Do I aerate using my pool fountains until PH is at 8, then add about 4.5 gallons of MA to deep end returns?

Thanks!

Welcome to TFP! Basically yes, you use enough muriatic acid to lower the pH from 8.0 down to about 7.0-7.2. Then let the pH rise. You can let it rise on its own, or help it rise quicker with aeration (any type) so that once the pH hits 8.0 you can lower it again. A TA of 120 is a bit elevated, but not crazy high, so if you want to just treat with acid when the pH hits 8.0 and let it rise naturally that's fine.
