When I do start slamming it, how often will I be adding in more liquid chlorine? Do I start this in the evening hours?Good to hear! Thanks for your help

It is best to do it every 2-3 hours, particularly early in the SLAM. You can start anytime you have your kit. You can SLAM 24 hours a day if you like.

Only difference in doing it every 2-3 vs 5-6 hours is how long the SLAM will take...
I have 25 gallons on hand ready to start when I get my kit. Last question for now. Will I leave it on filter as I am slamming? Not sure when to use it on circulate.

Great. Do you have DE on hand? Do you know your clean filter pressure? Can you backwash the DE filter?
I have plenty of DE on hand. I just backwashed it yesterday. Pressure is at 12.

Great. DE filters are notorious for clogging up quickly with organics. Note your backwashed/clean pressure. When you pressure rises 25% over clean pressure, backwash. If you clean pressure is 10, when it hits 12.5-13, time to backwash again.

How many lbs of DE powder should I be adding after each backwash?

If that is the cartridge style DE filter, it should be broken down and cleaned each time. Backwash is not real good on that type.

1lb per 10sq ft of filter area for clean filter. 80% if that if backwashed. As Marty says if cartridge it should be cleaned.
I had put 1 gallon of liquid chlorine in early yesterday afternoon and 3 more yesterday evening.

Was your first FC reading before or after the 3 gallon of LC added?
Regardless, the testing indicated a drop over night. So the FAS-DPD will get better data and allow you to follow the SLAM process to completion.

The 1st reading I sent was 2 hours after I put in the 3 gallons in the evening. Earlier in the afternoon yesterday my readings were
