Testing with my new taylor salt water kit. No chlorine
CYA60.
Salt two thousand
was going to do the overnight chlorine test? But should I add the salt first and wait twenty four hours or should I perform that before I add the salt

what would cause my CS 200 filter to calcify? Within 30 days, just replaced it with a new filter. But if it happens again, would like to know what are the possible causes

With zero chlorine, you can move right into SLAM. SLAM Process
You will need to add salt to see if your SWCG is still working as 2000 is likely too low.

I don't know what calcified filter means... can you share pictures? Do you mean it's caked up / extra dirty etc?

Without chlorine, you have algae which can easily plug up a filter in a matter of hours/days.

No pick of calcified filter, they supplied us south a new one. No debris just nice white filter with hard white calcification almost salt like in consistency.

Did pool Chem today and happy to say we now have chlorine, added on Thursday , 1 gallon.

Test of results below. Added acid for ph already. Will add a gallon of conditioner/ stabilizer in a few minutes.

Should I add the baking soda also?

I thought low salt too still at 2000, but pool builder says it's fine and not too add.

Would also add that at the time of 0 chlorine, the swg was only set to 20%, changed that on Thursday to 60% at builders recommendation along with adding 1 gallon of chlorine

Your CYA is 50. Always round up to the next 10.
For you FC, always follow this based on your CYA...Link-->FC_CYA][/FC_CYA]

With CC of 1.0, that would mean you should SLAM. Link-->SLAM Process
If you want reassurance that SLAM is appropriate, do an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test...Link-->Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

I would lower your pH to 7.8 and keep it there.

Your CSI is .28...which is a bit toward the scaling end of the spectrum. You can lower your pH to lower CSI, but your TA is already a minimums...lowering pH will lower TA further.
