Low Pump Pressure - Suggestions and Options?

Hello,

The pressure of my electircal pump outputs is really slow now and I was wondering how I could troubleshoot this problem. We cleaned the filter and then uses the vacuum cleaner to pick up some leaves and not long after it was slow again. I'm beginning to think it's more than just the filter because when I pulled it out that second time it wasn't really that dirty.

What are my options and do you have any suggestions or recommendations?

A few places things can get clogged and/or might be worth checking:

Valves can be in wrong position
Skimmer basket
Main drain(s) - can get plugged with debris
Check valve - can get leaves caught
Pump strainer basket
Pump - debris can get caught in the volute (place where the impeller spins)
Filter
Heater - can get clogged with scale
Check valve
Chlorinator - can get encrusted with scale
Return jets - easy to pop out, unlikely to be fouled
Anywhere inside a pipe, probably at turns in the pipe

Is the filter pressure lower or higher than normal? After you cleaned the filter did the pressure drop and then rise again shortly after?
