Low Pool Water Temp - PH Level

FYI - My water temps in my pool have dropped low enough that the IC60 is not working, so I am manually adding bleach during the winter..

My question though is PH level related to water temp.

I have been keeping my PH right around 7.6...

But mainly due to the temp of the water (41F to 43F), the CSI has been in the .39 to .47 range... which says it could be corrosive to the plaster.

If my PH rises to 8.0 right now, the CSI drops to .15 which is balanced...

Where should my PH be during the winter?

FYI rest of the readings typically are:

FC 5.5
CC 0
TA 80
CH 425
CYA 50
Salt - 3000
Borates 50

I think you are meaning negative CSI numbers, correct?

Maintain a pH level between 7.8-8 and you should be just fine.

Also, all things being equal, the same sample of water will have a higher pH when it is cold than when it is warm (about 0.2 units of pH change over the normal water temperature fluctuation). So you can always expect your colder pool water to be slightly higher in pH readings.

As Brian said, 7.8-8.0 is perfectly fine.

Yes, still bring it down as you normally would.

The temperature effects are fairly small compared to any chemical effects on pH so you shouldn't try to modify anything to take into account temperatures.
