Hi there,

I have a question on calcium hardness. I had an RO service done two weeks ago. Prior to the service my calcium hardness was 600. After the RO service it was down to 100. It’s now at 125 and has been there for quite a few days. According to Pool Math it should be minimum 250.

I’ve had a couple people say don’t worry too much about it, it’ll come up on its own. I’m just curious at what point does damage start beginning to the plaster, pebbletec. Should I at least get it up to 200-ish in the next week or so?

Thanks !!

It takes a little while for the water to start pitting the pool, and with the hard AZ water, it will definitely come up on its own. But it's hard to tell how at risk of pitting you are without knowing the other factors affecting your CSI (pH, TA, CYA, and temp). You don't normally need to worry about CSI, but you don't want it to stay less than -0.3 for too long.
