Lotion/Oil clean-up

I’ve been reading old forum posts and like the suggestion of using a Scumbug and keeping some New Pig MAT551 Polypropylene Oil-Only Absorbent Mat Pads on hand so I put both in my Amazon Wish List*. I recently bought some hairnets on the suggestion it will catch more items before getting to the filter.

I noticed the hairnets have the same Polypropylene material as the Pig Pads and I imagine the Scumbug is the same. Does anyone know if these three items work in similar fashion to remove oils from the water?

Scumbugs, scumballs and others like them can certainly help catch some oils in your skimmer. Hairnets help quite a bit with finer particles such as pollen and grass. I have not tried the pig pads in a pool application before...
