We think we have a leak because we are losing 3/4 in water a day and the salt is going down quickly too even though no one has been in the pool. Just checking to see if 3/4in is higher than it should be since we have not hit summer temps yet in Texas. Thanks

Water lost to evaporation leaves the salt behind. Once topped up with fresh water, salt content should remain neutral.
Do you have an auto-filler for the pool level? You might check it as it's happened before that the auto-fill is running continuously, with excess water going into overflow continuously.

Thanks for the reply. No we don’t have an autofill. We are going on 3 years with the pool and never had a problem with our salt.

Ah - ok how are you testing salt? Taylor K-1766 is the only accurate test available.
We recently had our solar spring a leak (a massive geyser) and empty about 3 feet of pool water. Had to add about 5 bags of salt (200 lbs.) to get it back to spec.

Ok - but how are you testing salt content? If trusting test strips, or the SWCG display, beware.
I test using strips and the SWG. Strips said 3500 SWG said 3750. Unit calls for 3000-4000
the builder just confirmed a leak today so I guess that is how we are losing salt. Now to start to figure out how and when they will fix it
