Hi, I have a Hayward c1750 filter. For some reason, the lid is difficult to remove after releasing the pressure so I have to rock the lid back and forth to get it loose and the filter housing is not bolted to the ground. I remember changing the o-ring and making sure that it was lubed; it seems to help but still the lid should just come off easily without having to rock it. Meanwhile this has caused the pipe fittings to loosen and caused some leakage.
As you know, the piping is glued so it is not quite easy to just retighten them. I have tried rotating the body of the filter when empty to rectify the inability to turn the fittings, but if you rotate in one direction to tighten the fitting, it automatically has an opposite effect on other fitting (loosening it) as the inlet and outlet are on opposite sides. Attached is a stock image of the filter fitting location for better idea.
If anyone knows possible ways to retighten without cutting pipe or spraying sealant or whatnot, please share. Thanks in advance!
