Looks like dryer lint

Please tell me this is normal because nothing about our pool has been normal. Cleaning filters and have this grey lint looking stuff on them

Got any cottonwood trees within a mile? That’s what it looks like to me.

I have sycamore trees on my neighbor's property which have these brown balls the size of golf balls which, when they hit the ground they puff into the same kind of cotton balls you see in your picture above (which look like clumps of wet lint in the pool).
