Looking for sand/glass/etc recommendations for a hayward 24 inch filter.

Hey I drained my filter thinking I had a broken lateral because a little bit of sand kept getting into my pool. I figured I had a cracked lateral. This was not the case.

Looking to get some new media for the filter and originally I was going to go with glass but seems like the more research I do people tend to agree sand is still the way to go.

Trying to find a good media that won't end up getting pulled through my laterals and out into my pool. Any recommendations?

Just read through that. That's kind of why I'm asking. Seems like there is a lot of issues when people change out their media in their filter. Just trying to avoid these pitfalls hence the thread.
