Looking for pool ideas

So, the Pool guys tell me it will be $3500 to replace my liner for my 15'x30' above ground pool since the frame is old and it would have to be a custom pool. I'm going to try to last a couple seasons with the liner the way it is, but I'm looking at options.

I want to see what kind of a plan I can come up with in 2 years time.

I have friends that have digging equipment, and friends that have offered to help install a liner, so I have a labor force.

I'm thinking about kits/pools/DIY ideas. Anything from an 18' oval above ground to in-expensive 15x30 in ground kits.

Can you point me in the right direction?

First off, I hope nobody takes offense to the donation link, it was a tongue-in-cheek kind of thing.

Seriously... I didn't realize kits were so in-expensive. I looked here:

Only $6k. I could do the plumbing and electric. I installed my own tank-less water heater over the winter. And have friends who are electricians.

Question, I've poured cement, but for this would I want to hire somebody? Or could I do it myself? Who's done it?

$3500 for that liner sounds very crazy to me -- even if it would need to be custom made. A typical 15'x30' oval pool liner is just a few hundred dollars -- I know a Wilkes compatible liner may run a bit more, but...

They were saying $1500 for the liner, and the rest would be to re-level and all the work to install. It would have to be seamed together. Still, another friend said that pool company was pricey.

I'd really like to wait a couple years and see if I could do an in-ground kit.
