I just buy the cheapest cover I can get on Amazon and they are nothing more than a circular tarp, but presumably your needs are much different in Florida.
Are you just looking to keep leaves out of the pool? If so they make leaf net covers (which I put on top of my cover until the leaves drop) as well as mesh covers. The advantage to a tarp cover like I use is that it keeps all debris and UV light out of the pool which helps preserve the chlorine and water clarity. I close right around now and will open in May with clear water and FC somewhere between 3-6ppm.
The downside to the tarp covers is they are a bit of an eyesore (compared to looking at water) and you also need to drain/pump off the water that accumulates on top, whereas leaf and mesh covers allow rain water to go right through, though I suppose you then have to drain some of the pool water before it overflows.
