We're in the process of closing our pool for the first time ourselves. We have a lock in winter pool cover, but we can’t figure out how to use it. (The one that somehow clips in under the coping) I’ve googled and Youtube searched like crazy, but can’t find anything. Can anyone here help?! Thanks!

Never heard of a “lock in” winter pool cover. Pics of what you are looking at may be helpful to understand your situation.

Sure! There’s a track under the coping and you insert the covers edge into the track. Once inserted, you pull down hard (towards the ground) on the cover and it locks into place. You just work your way around the pool inserting and pulling down! It was surprising to me that I couldn’t and still can’t find any instructions online for this type of cover. Here’s a google image of what the cover looks like (I’m not at home to take a pic of my actual pool with cover).

Hmmm, interesting. When we had our pool installed (4 yrs ago now), we were lead to believe that it was a pretty common, middle of the road choice as far as winter covers are concerned. But I'm noting now, that it must not be that common if we can't find any info on it's use online!! LOL FYI, it's a good sturdy cover, still in excellend shape after 3 full winters of use (this will be the 4th) and we have been lucky enough to open our pool to pretty clean water in the spring. If the cover even has anything to do with that....

It sounds good, but I've never seen one.

We struggled with installing lock-in vinyl cover for the first time in the fall. How the heck do we remove it?! It's very tight ... can we use boiling water to 'soften' it? Any tips or tricks?
