beautiful pool came with the house we moved into about 3 years ago. I have been having the people from the local pool store open and close my pool because we were not pool people. I'm still not comfortable opening and closing on my own, but I know I'm paying way too much for the service. almost 1k a year.

Looking for a reference for a trusted person to service my pool, specifically opening and closing. I have a line on one person, but I'd love a couple more if possible. Thank you in advance.

I'm up in McHenry County and know two people/companies you could reach out to up here, that are good with opening/closings. I just don't know if they go down to Plainfield or not...

Why not try opening on your own to save half of your expenses? I know closing is a different story with blowing out the lines, but some closing companies will do just a blow out of the lines and you could do the rest. I open myself, and I've had two closings on our pool that were included with our build. Next fall I will have a decision to make on closing. Do I get the Cyclone and do it myself, or have someone blow out the lines?

If you are handy and have the strength, opening is not very hard. TFP people here can guide you, as well as closing if you're brave enough.

After doing some reading. I may be able to open the pool. I really have t don’t much with the equipment since we acquired the pool a few years ago. But I’ll start reading up and getting ready come spring. I’ll find someone to close it though. That just seems a nightmare.

Tip whoever shows up $20 each. Upfront. It will greatly help their attitudes when you tell them you're buying (a good) lunch in exchange for shadowing them. They'll likely even teach you what they're doing. Take 200 pics and watch them in reverse in the spring as a DIY project. Next closing will be your 3rd rodeo and way less scary. You'll have us and pics to fall back on. (y)
