Living on the Gulf, dealing with Black Spot Algae

My pool is open and 20 ft away from a canal on the Gulf of Mexico. Gulls, Egrets, ducks and Herons are frequent visitors. So is Black Spot Algae. I am currently fighting the 2nd infestation this summer.
Is there any precautions I can take beyond frequent testing, weekly brushing, and keeping the FC at the high end of the chart for current CYA levels? Should I vacuum weekly as well as brush? I use a stainless steel brush.

Last numbers (before current SLAM) were:

FC 5.0
CC 0
TA 90
PH 7.8
CH 500
CYA 50

The experts will chime in about your FC/CYA ratio, with your frequent visitors you should probably run your FC a little on the high side of normal. I would also invest in a robot, it wont replace brushing but its a great supplement. I run mine every day that I am home, but I am a little OCD so one leaf at the bottom of my pool freaks me out. Get a Speedstir, I know they say its optional, but I don’t think so. It is the cheapest investment in proper testing. Listen to what they say here, since I have followed their advice my pool is the best in our neighborhood by a long shot.

I’m right down the road from you near IRB. I’ve never had an issue with black algae but I have to keep my FC higher than what is suggested in the FC/CYA chart (during swim season) or I’m just not happy with it. I’m pretty OCD about the clarity of my pool. I use a CYA of 70 and a FC of 8-10.

I'm a few miles east of you and do the same. I keep my FC at 9 with CYA of 70. I also run my robot twice a week for 2 hours.
