Liquid shock? Should I use it?

Good morning,

As a kind gesture from my neighbor for helping with his frog infested pool last week, he gave me three bottles of liquid shock that he found in the garage. I've no idea what's in this stuff or where it came from but if it's the same as pool store chlorine then I will gladly pour it into a pool. What say you all?

It is bleach. Might be 10% or 12.5%. Should show % sodium hypochlorite on the label.

It also shows 90% other ingredients. It is the "other" ingredients that has me concerned.

What percentage is in the yellow containers from the pool store Marty?

It's 10%. Bought the same stuff from Ollie's. I think the date code (from what I can see is 19 120s?) is fresh.

Should be nearly full strength remaining if so.

The "other" ingredients are water and a dash of lye. It's the same stuff you would buy at the pool store. No worries at all in using it. Enjoy your free stuff.

In checking it seems that there is an Ollie's near you in Ft Myers. Perhaps your friend shops there. ;-)
