Question on my setup - I have a Pentair Rainbow chlorinator on my pool that I no longer use for tabs. I’ve been using liquid chlorine which I manually add to the pool, until recently when I got a Rola-Chem pump. Instead of drilling a new hole into the plumbing, I used an existing fitting on the chlorinator to add the liquid chlorine feed. Chlorinator is empty of tabs hasn’t had tabs in it for several pool seasons.
Any critical issues you see in this setup that I’m missing? The valve at the bottom is at 5 (full open). The liquid chlorine is a drip feed system, adding 1/2 gal (give or take) daily over 24hrs. I adjust the pump up or down as needed. Tubing is rated for chlorine service. Back flow preventer is in place. Tubing has clamps on each end of the barb fittings. Pump is a VSD that runs all 24hrs/day at various speeds. Chlorine feed is downstream of the heater and filter. Only thing I don’t have is a flow sensor to shut off the Rola-Chem pump if the pool shuts off, but that will be added in the near future. Also plan to put a second tube over the first one in the event of a failure or disconnect, the material would be contained in the second tube and directed safety away and down to the ground.
