Liquid chlorine alternative?

Hi
I live in Puerto Rico and liquid chlorine at a good percent is hard to come by. Pool stores do not sell liquid chlorine on the island. Home Depot has liquid chlorine at 10% but it is from last year's season. In other stores, regular chlorine is 3% to 4% but at least 3 to 6 months old.

What can you recommend?

What is the CH of your fill water? I assume you get a lot of rain?

Can you find Cal Hypo (calcium hypochlorite)?

The Cal Hypo should dissolve on contact with the water. Be sure to brush around any remaining pellets.

Just test your CH and when you get to 250 ppm or so and you know it will rain drain some water off and let the rain fill it. You should be able to closely track your CH buildup if you use Poolmath and each time you add Cal Hypo you will know how much CH you added to your water.
