Don't use any powdered shock, use bleach or liquid chlorine for now. :-D
Most shock products contain CYA (which you KNOW you don't want
) or calcium and other byproducts that you simply just don't need most of the time until you FULLY understand why you need what and when in your pool.
Here we practice BBB/TFP way and by having a very good test kit (like the TF-100) you can use these test results to address all of the pool water problems, use the Pool School rules and directions and the pool will behave!
