Hi All,
I have already read as many posts and checked out

I am replacing my liner, have a pool installer with multiple recommendations from people. My question is about liner, liners UV warranties etc...
He uses Merlin Liners and we like a couple one is Aqua Max (more expensive due to some kind of extra UV protection but only 20mil), one is Aqua Intense 27 mil but doesnt have the Aqua Max extra, and one is just regular Merlin 27 wall/20 floor.

Does any of that really make a difference? We are in NC 18*36 Grecian with deep end pool. Do you always go with a thicker liner? Is the Extra UV really better? Any thoughts are always appreciated!

I know @jimmythegreek likes thicker 30 mil liners. Let's see what he thinks about UV protection.

I think UV protection is marketing puffery. The water gives most of the liner UV protection. Liners usually fail from poor water chemistry or getting brittle from old age.

I use 27 or 30 I am not a fan of 20 unless it's a complex pool and you have to have the needed flex for certain spots. Merlin makes good dyes some colors are better than others. The UV thing is new I can't say it's true time will tell. The sunny side waterline gets beat up the worst with fading. The deeper blues fade the most with most brands. Theres a grey color they have thats nice and has held up great so far its flawless.
