Hi,
I'm a new owner of a not-so-new pool. It's a 55x15' lap pool, built in the 1990's. It has 2 small lights, one of which currently doesn't work. I pulled the bulb and the lamp fixture itself is damaged, so I'm trying to understand replacement options.
The light is a small Purex 10510 light. Near as I can tell, this is the same thing as a Starite/Pentair "Sunlight" line. I can find direct replacements for it, but wanted to understand what options I had to change to something more efficient. The light itself is so small and uses an off Edison base that finding a screw-in LED replacement bulb is not possible.
Beyond draining the pool and rebuilding, is there any way to retrofit the niche? Ex - convert it to something I could use a surface mount or nicheless light with? Or should I just stick with replacing with the same, or with one of the modern 'spa' lights that fits the smaller niche?
Thanks!
