We just had our tile and coping installed, but the leuders stone coping doesn’t look right to me. Is it normal for them to appear so dirty? I understand that it is natural stone and there will be some variation, but this just looks awful. Could this be uneven sanding? Or did I just get a bad slab? Most of the coping looks similar to this, but this one is probably the most pronounced. I thought it was just dirt, but I’ve cleaned it off and it still looks like this.
If you have leuders stone, does it start like this and then lighten with time?
These were completed about two weeks ago.
Thanks!
Wow Bob, I can see why you're so unsatisfied. I sure would be. I can't comment on what you're seeing other than that though because i don't have it myself but hopefully others with it will reply. I used the TFP Google Search and there are other threads about this product and if you skim thru them there are a few pictures.
Some of my lueder pieces look this way too and are now getting small holes in them like erosion. I'm trying to determine whether these particular ones are bad production and need to be replaced. What did you find out?
That black can be mold/mildew on the stone. I use Wet & Forget on stones around my house that clean black stain off of it. Follow directions to dilute it and spray it on the stone and leave it to dry. Don;t scrub. See if it clears up in a few days after application.

Hi CarlieS, I have had my pool about 6 months. I used leuders as well. I have some very large pits in my leuders now. It almost looks like a sponge it has so many pits and holes. Did you ever figure out what to do for this? It looks awful.
