The problem:
My light fixture is dead, and the 100ft wire is trapped and broken in the conduit. At the last liner change the installer removed the light fixture, placed a plate over the niche, and installed the liner over it.
The question:
Anyone ever try to work on the niche/liner without draining 3ft of water? Is it even possible?
Here is what I'm thinking:
Cut an access hole in the concrete above the niche.
Core saw the concrete under the diving board pedestal
Run new niche plumbing into the pedestal.
And that is where I am stumped...
I can't cut the liner wet or it will flood and float out.
I could construct a cofferdam, but if it gets dislodged the liner floats.
If drain the pool, can I even get the niche cover plate out from behind the liner?
That is the long way of saying I want my pool light back without spending $8K.
Any suggestions?
