Set up my new S200 (Prowler 920) over the weekend. Little guy works like a charm.

I'm a little confused as to how it should stored. The instructions are pretty clear about not leaving it in all the time, and to never operate out of water.

It also has a few automation options - 3 days a week, etc.

How would any of these automation options be of any use without the robot remaining the pool all the time, aside from cleanings?

The robot isn't that heavy so I don't mind moving it in and out of the shed, but obviously leaving it and letting the automation cycles run would be easier.

Appreciate any input.

I leave mine in when there tends to be stuff flying in the pool and then take it out once stuff has cleared. But it’ll sit in there for weeks sometimes. Other people leave them in all year and other take them out every day.

Yeah my directions are the same take it out each time but still has a scheduling function. I do remove it every single time and fully clean the canister and rinse it off. It takes like 5 extra minutes. And I hate swimming with the robot even the mechanical water operated ones.

Right, I definitely don't want it in while I'm swimming so I guess I'll be taking it out anyway. Right now it's too cold to swim (though I did jump in for the first time after a long day of work around the house) so I guess this is the only time I would leave it in. Frankly I just found the conflicting instructions odd.

I took it out after every use for a while and then that got old. No one is swimming right now so it’s been in for a month.

I leave mine in till the pool is clean. Then I'll throw it in storage. I don't find it bothersome. But I also have a in-floor system.... If I didn't the robot would spend more time in the pool.

We tried to swim with it in this weekend and I just couldn't do it. Kinda like leaving all the swim toys out after the swimming is done. I just can't do it. Everything has to be picked up and clean. We'll do it all again tomorrow.

I leave mine in most of the time - i have a deck box near the edge of the pool that the brains (controller) live in & the cord runs out of the side so when the robot is asleep I loop the cable up near the edge & he his parked in the pool next to there. It’s near the skimmer so no one really hangs out there anyway. If there’s company or the kids are all in there we take him out & set him on the deck in the shade & i take the opportunity to to empty his belly. Sometimes I will put him in the deck box. When swimming is done he goes back in as to not mess up his schedule. If he happens to be beached & the schedule begins he will just go through the self test & shut off but my pool would not be cleaned 😩 Mine is running on automation mode via a smart plug so when he’s asleep there is no power to the unit, this removes the electricity ⚡️/water/ people concern even if he’s resting while we swim.
