I'll be leaving for about 8 days and I typically use liquid chlorine added by me daily. I searched for threads and found the suggestion of getting a floater that could hold the pucks while I'm gone. Should I get Dichlor or Trichlor (sp?). I believe my CYA is around 30-35 currently because of enormous rain. I have a vinyl liner pool with around 4400 gallons.
 
I see no testing in your logs. What is your CH?

With a CYA of 30, you can use either types of pucks. NEVER put a dichlor puck in a floater that has had trichlor. Never put a trichlor puck in a floater that has had dichlor.

Good morning,

I do not test my Calcium hardness because it's a vinyl pool. I'm not sure why none of my testing shows. I am using the Trouble Free app and logging most of my additions.

Does the Trichlor contain something for calcium is that why you ask? Oh and why never use Di and Tri in same dispenser?

I'm coming out of a 6-7 day Slam and stayed finally this morning at 13 from last night 13.5 FC so really hoping these floaters are going to do the trick (I leave Monday). It is really hard to clear my pool with my tiny sand filter.
How many would you suggest I put in?

Yes. Explosion. Search for "explosion pool chemicals" here or google.

If your pool loses 3-4FC per day, each tab adds 12FC to your pool, so at least 3.
 
Back for more help. I went to the pool store and the floaters that they sold said only for trichlor tablets. Can dichlor tablets be used in them? The guy didn't even know what dichlor was and they didn't sell them. Are dichlor tablets hard to find? I think I would prefer just chlorine and CYA because that's all I've ever had to really use in my pool.
