The pool will only leak when the water level gets to one inch above the skimmer. It will NOT leak when it is above 3 " . then it is fine. It was fine all winter when ( In CT) I opened it fine then after evaporation and backwash ECt, when the level got too low it leaked.

Keeping the question simple at first, I will elaborate if you guys need more info.

Welcome to TFP! Off the top of my head I can't imagine a scenario where water would leak at a lower water level and not higher. Can you provide more details as to how you came to this conclusion? What leak detection method(s) have you used to this point?

As just to be clear, when you say "1 inch above the skimmer", are you referring to 1 inch above the lower opening of the skimmer mouth opening? Then "it will NOT leak when it is above 3"" which would be 1/2 - 3/4 full in the skimmer mouth? Or do you literally mean totally above the entire skimmer opening?

Hi,

Last spring it started leaking, I cant find exactly where because I cant find anyone to come check. no one works on pools they did not install. It will NOT leak ( odd, I know) when it is above about 3" where the water goes in to go down the skimmer to the filter. It was fine all winter when it was high, no leak. I have been trying to keep it clean. Last week I did some back wash and vacuum to waste and also evaporation, it got to about one inch above the skimmer basket , then the leaking started again.

Let's start with a few other questions:
- Do you see any water leaking from your backwash line when in FILTER mode?
- Does the the water level drop if you place the filter MPV on recirculate?
- Have you ruled out evaporation? Checkout this link:

Last but not least, I would encourage you to post some pics of the pool and equipment pad from various angles. It might give us more ideas.

Its not evaporation, it leaks too fast. I have not tried it on different modes, IE backwash, There is no visible water leaking from the pump, and pipes above ground, no wet spots on deck.

i do not have a turn off valve for the main drain or other pipes.

At this point, the pool is almost empty, The photo was from that day.
I had a guy out but could not do it. Then I went away for a week and now there isnt much water left, so I am cleaning it.
