This site has been such a great source of knowledge to me the last few years, so thanks to everyone who gives all the great advice!08-03-24 Pump Leak.jpg
I have a drip from the lower part of the pump attached. From the research, here, I assume the shaft seal needs to be replaced. If I order the parts today, they should get here in about three days. A few questions: First, do you think my diagnosis is correct? Second, do you think I can still run the pump about 4 hours each day, until the parts come, without destroying the pump?

Thanks,

George

Yes and yes.

Replace all orings too.

Get a Go Kit.
Thank you. I forgot to mention that it is a saltwater pool. The person I spoke to at Inyo Pools said I need just the seal plate gasket and shaft seal since they were special for saltwater pools. Does this sound correct? Or should I get the special gasket and shaft seal, AND the Go Kit and use the rest from the Go Kit? I would prefer to replace everything I can, if I'm in there.

PS-1908 is the Salt water service Shaft seal. See doc. All the o-rings are just o-rings...
