Leaking Elbow

Is there some kind of tape that can be used?
It's unlikely that any kind of tape will stop a pressure side leak. As long as the pump is running, all it's going to do is drip a little water.

So I found pool parts in my garage. I have a 90 degree elboe, many couplings, and some pvc pipes. My question is, can I cut out the leaking elboe, and use the couplings, new elboe to replace it? Or do i need to replace the entire length of pipe, and both ends elboes?

As long as there is enough room to fit a coupler between the downward port of the elbow and the pump union...Use a coupler on the straight section of pipe as well.

If you look inside of your coupler, you'll see how much pipe you actually need to remove. On the one below, only about 1/8" of pipe needs to be removed. That's assuming the cuts are perfectly straight (which they never are) so you may need to remove a bit more.

Looks room for an inch, i guess the deeper the better

Thank you. Is it ok to use Christy Redhot glue?
Sorry, I missed this earlier. That glue should work. More important is prep. Make sure that you remove all paint before trying to cement fittings together.

So my neighbor helped me with this again, and dispite the messy look, somehow it is not leaking. The outside of one fitting got primed by him by error, and like a laughable moment I thought he missed a spot and added more purple primer. It was funny at the time.
My only concern is we pushed the elboe down onto the pump pipe, and it popped backed off, before the glue dried we pushed it back down, and I held it in place until he could get a wrench to disconnect the fitting from pump. We left it off 24 hours, and this morning when I attached pipe to pump it was off center maybe 1/2 inch but was able to force it over. So far not leaking but am concerned.
