Leak on lower cartridge filter canister

Hi,

I have a Hayward pleated cartridge filter. The housing bottom was replaced about a year ago and is now leaking from the inlet port. I can hear air pulling into it when the pump turns off and water leaks out when the pump starts.

What would be the best way to fix this leak? What tool would you use to remove the threaded part? I have a pipe wrench but it's too small. Strap wrench?

The leak is where the black meets the brown in the picture here. I don't have a big enough wrench to work on it right now, so I'm not sure if it would unscrew or if it is glued in. I have a tendency to break things easily, so I thought I'd ask before getting a huge wrench or shooting silicone all around it. :D

Thanks for any advice.

Ok, you're going to need to open the filter and hold the inlet elbow to unscrew the bulkhead fitting.

Replace the oring Part #SX220Z2.

Lube with silicon lube and reinstall.
