We’ve been losing water so I ordered a leak tester kit. One of our jets the dye goes into the jet when the pump is off so I am assuming that is where the leak is. We have concrete around the pool. Our pool is only 1 year old and the company we worked with was an absolute nightmare. We’ve had to have our cover fixed, just had our pump fixed and now this. I don’t know what to do. 😭 I saw a fix a leak product on Amazon by Marlig. It has over 3,000 reviews though mixed 61% are 5 star. Can I use this?

Unfortunately, a proper repair of the PVC (or fitting) is best. That's important to note. Just because dye might get pulled into the jet (when water is not moving), doesn't mean the break is actually at that jet. It could be anywhere along that supply line, but you just happen to see water get pulled in at the jet. So if you don't actually see a crack or break at the return jet fitting, it may be anywhere along the return line somewhere. In that case, a leak detection is best where techs pressurize the system and listen to the plumbing from above on the concrete deck to pinpoint the leak.

I hear what you are saying about the installers, but this is something that should be addressed by them. In the meantime, maybe post some pics of your pool and decking from different angles. Maybe we can help give you some things to consider.

For some perspective, checkout my thread below and look at post #32. That was my break location, but I still ended-up having to tear up decking to do a better install that my installers didn't do well to begin with.

Your best option, unfortunately, is a leak detection company. The builder should have supplied at least a 1 year warranty and if possible, press him on it. Complain to any contractor's board about it.
Marlig Fix-A-Leak has a success rate about equal to the percentage of good reviews. Sometimes does and sometimes doesn't.
For $30.00 it may be a good thing to try, but the instructions have to be followed exactly and it all has to be gone before actual filtration is restarted.
For some it works for a long time. Others?

Thank you guys! The leak detection company came out today and the leak is at the main drain. The fitting was cracked. He said he typically sees this issue on 20-30 yr old pools not new builds. He epoxy’d the crack so the leak would stop, and we are going to have the pool company replace the fitting.

Texas splash I read through that whole thread! Omg sounded like a nightmare and a ton of work you did! Well done!
