I am starting my 6th year here with a 21k 30’ pool. I originally had a saltron retro system, and I think I have replaced a power supply once, and the salt cell twice, and now it appears the salt cell needs replacing.
For $399-$499 for the whole system, but only about $200-299 for replacement parts - it think it has served me decently.
I was going to turn around and by another - but wanted to check with this group and see if anything new is more economical. As always, thanks for your suggestions!

If it works for you I say go for it.
Solaxx doesn’t list the hourly life expectancy/ or approximate lifetime output of these units so I have been hesitant to recommend them as the warranty is quite short.
If you could estimate, how long would you say your cells have lasted and how long do you run it (hrs/day and length of season)?

I have ran it consistently from Mid-May to Labor Day. That’s 1200 hours easily, usually I have it set in 12-14 hours as I recall. I have alway(except this year), left it in the pool over the winter, against the recommendation of the manufacturer. And I’m on my third. So I think these lasted easily two years.

That’s good to know. I had a different brand hangover unit and it worked surprisingly well for more than 1 season considering it wasn’t large enough for my pool. I did remove part in the pool for winter but left the box in its place under my deck. I liked that the pump didn’t have to run to operate the unit.
I have had a decent experience with solaxx customer service for warranty claims in the past so no real hesitation there just the life expectancy of that particular unit was kinda unknown. It sounds like a decent step up/alternative from an intex unit for smaller pools.
