What did they ever do for the in pool table top.... I saw they poured the pedistal (I assume out of 12" silo tube)......but I see no re-bar stubbed up? Did they tie the pedestal in with the shell? What are their plans for a top?

They ended up putting rebar in it, tied back to the shell. The top will be a giant piece of flagstone that they will cut and place after the plaster is done.

Plaster is done! Acid wash and fill tomorrow, also have a crew coming out to tackle some punch list items.
Color is Caribbean Blue Stonescapes Mini Pebble.

At long last our build is done...for the most part, just a few small punch list items remaining and some landscaping which we are doing ourselves this coming weekend. Overall we couldn't be more thrilled with the way the project came out. The design is exactly what we wanted and it all looks so good. The PB we used seems to have delivered a finished product that is second to none in quality as well and the detail and workmanship is incredible, from both the PB guys and the subs they used. Boy was it a process and struggle getting to this point. I fully believe that had I not filed with the BBB I would still be looking at a halfway finished hole and mud pit in my back yard. Once I got the attention of the owner though things improved ten-fold. It seems as they either just have a really bad construction manager in general, or they have just taken on too much work this year for them to stay on top of. Either way his attitude toward us and the project would turn me away from working with this PB again.



We definitely learned a lot during the process, and I'm kind of thankful my job got disrupted due to COVID so I could be here to oversee things. Doing it over again there were definitely some things in the contract that I would have changed to better protect us, and at least have an expected completion date written in. I also probably would've had the kitchen build separately by a different contractor as you can tell these guys were in way over their head trying to figure out how to build that.



We have the PB starting and balancing everything for the first month, they don't even want me testing the water until after then which I am reluctantly complying with so as not to void our warranty. So I can't contribute to the water chemistry discussion for a while.



Anyway, here are some pics of the completed build, Once the water clears up and the plaster cures I will post some more color pics and some pics in the color thread as well!

How many phillips hue lighting do you have attached off of one plug in transformer????
I am interested in doing hue lighting in my front yard....

Ive got one transformer with 6 lights on it, and the rest have 5 on them. I am waiting for the larger Hue transformer to be released soon and then I can clean things up a bit.

Looks amazing! Love everything! Can I ask the dimensions of your outdoor kitchen? Also was it a huge expense? we were quoted over $22k for an 8 ft x 6 ft on a 45° angle. That price did NOT include appliances, grill or the storage compartments. Basically just the frame, veneer and counter. Any in-site would be much appreciated.

They’ve announced a 100w one (I think the current one is 30-40w) and it’s even listed in their online store, you just can’t order it yet.

Looking at the plans, the long side is 13’, the turn is 11’ and the 45 angle piece is 7’8”

I didn’t get a fully broken out quote, I think they said it was somewhere in the 17-18k range for the “shell” (footer, block frame, veneer, counter top, 3x electrical outlets, plumbing and gas stub outs. We had to buy the appliances and storage cabinets and have them hooked up on our own.

Well one month in and I think we are still in the honeymoon phase. We are still waiting on some punch list items to be knocked out though, hoping that gets done soon. They came by last week and switched us over to salt, and I have fully taken over maintenance. I think I’ve got a pretty good handle on it so far but the recent rains might have knocked me out of whack.

my latest test results were:
FC- 5.0
PH- 7.6
TA- 90
CH- 400
CYA- 90 (I know it’s a little high)
Salt- 3300
Borates- 40

with a water temp of 92 (no heating at all!)

our water color has really come through nicely too. Loving the Mini Pebble! (Color is Caribbean blue)
