Ladder mat

Good afternoon! Can anyone help me with some direction regarding a ladder and my above ground pool? I have an A-Frame pool ladder. It moves all over the place from kids using it. I would like to secure it to the ground, but I can't really because it gets removed every night to close the gate. I am also looking for ways to protect my liner from it. I used bath mats last year and it worked OK but I'm hoping for better.

I went to Lowe's and got a bathroom shower liner that goes in the bottom of a new shower.They sale it by the foot.Has worked great for 4 yrs so far.Before then I would use the suction bathtub matts.They will stay stuck to floor
