Lack of water pressure in the pressure relief valve. Possible problem?

When I first got the pool, during priming at 3400 RPM, if I opened the filter pressure relief valve water would shoot out pretty far. Now it only dribbles out when running at the same RPM. Im thinking this might point to a leak in some seal in the filter.

Any thoughts?

Unscrew the valve from the filter housing and bump the pump on momentarily. If nothing comes out your problem is inside the housing not the valve. Disassemble and remove the obstruction inside. lf water squirts out strong your valve is messed up.

Hope this helps.

So water is not supposed to squirt out strongly? I thought it was supposed to.

I will get a picture of the valve.

+1 on the pic. What is your operating psi?

22.5 PSI at 3400 RPM when I just cleaned my filter and recharged and the pump is priming. However, now the filter has been cleaning for a while and it's at 30 PSI at 3400 RPM while priming. The valve issue is the same at either PSI

Chris is saying that if water squirts out of the top when the valve is removed and does not squirt out of the valve THEN your valve is messed up.

Water should squirt out of the top and valve strongly.
