Krystal Clear SWG CYA Says 30, Pool School says at least 60?

Hi!
Anyone have an Intex Krystal Clear SWG?
Are you following the manufacturer CYA levels or pool school?

Why would there be a difference in recommendations between the two?

The difference is they're not taking into consideration of the way SWGs S-L-O-WL-Y but steadily inject small doses of chlorine into your pool when the pump is running. You want to protect that from the harsh glare of the sun which can eat up chlorine. I call that the "Sun Tax". Your being in Austin get a LOT more sun than someone say in Boston. So we believe a higher CYA will do this.
Thousands of pools have confirmed our methods work.

Gotcha!! I wasn't sure if taking the CYA up to pool school levels would affect the operation of Intex's specific SWG.

Nope...the SWG is a dumb device. All it knows is to either make chlorine if the salt is right, or not. (Its the very same way household bleach is made....via electricity).
