This year more than all of the previous 20 plus years I've had the pool I'm struggling keeping leaves, seeds and blossoms out of the pool. The filter basket is jammed full overnight and in the day. When I'm home, I'm emptying it every few hours to keep up, but overnight or during the day when I'm at work it gets jammed full. Did anyone else have this problem? And if so, what did you do about it?

I read there was an article about a leaf cover with some kind of netting, but any results to find this netting came up empty. If anyone has any leads to purchase such a product please advise.

Thank you.

This has been the worst season so far for debris in my pool. The winds have been way stronger than any of the previous 2 seasons I have had my pool. This season, I have started using skimmer socks to keep that stuff(thought it would be just pollen, but other stuff) out of the filter. The skimmer socks have caught a lot of debris that would normally go into the filter. I feel confident that my DE filter will be able to go all summer without a cleanout. My filter pressure hasn't moved since the initial charge👏

I can't see putting a leaf net on during the season.

I have noticed that the debris in the pool has been less lately, so hopefully, we are past the mess and can start to enjoy our pool with less work.

Besides netting or a pool cover, there are skimmer guards that some people use. You can do a quick Google search to see a variety of them.
The skimmer is a neat idea. Although 99.9% of what I'm fighting is so small it goes right through the skimmer basket. The sock is always full to the top. Without the sock it would be in the pump basket or it even goes through that into the sand filter. So unfortunately the skimmer guard will not work in my case.
