New pool owner here. I have an inground pool located in the southeast United States. We just replaced the liner this week. Due to an issue we had with a leaking sand filter at the start of the season, I do not want to take the drain cap off of our sand filter. If we were to keep it open this winter, I've been told to just run the pump if we get below freezing and that I didn't have to make other preparations. Is this true?
We lose power a lot in this older neighborhood with tons of trees. In the case of a power outage during freezing temps what can I do to keep from damaging my equipment?
