I have an inground pool and have only owned this home for two years. I keep getting a black film around the inside of my skimmer. I’ve tested water and had it tested and they say everything’s fine. What am I missing here? Guy who closed my pool said use copper algaecide when I opened pool which I did.

Any chance you have test results from a TF-100 or Taylor k-2006 that you got yourself? We really need accurate data to give you good advice and pool store testing or test strips won't give us that.
I only have test strips and the pool place actually used some machine. The told me I needed add alkalinity but that didn’t fix it.
You need to get a proper test kit as stated above and stop listening to the pool store. there are experts here who are more than willing to help you out!
I have one of those liquid test kits. But it’s about 4 years old. Should I get new liquids? Any specific type? The one I have tests for only 4 things
