K1000 Test kit - shake or no shake?

I received my TF-100 Test Kit which includes the K-1000 chlorine, bromine, and pH test kit as well. The instructions for the K-1000 say to invert the block to mix, but says "DO NOT SHAKE." However, the TF-100 is saying to "shake well" at that step. Which should I do? Does it matter?
