Hi this is my first time posting because I only just found you! I've spent about an hour now, looking through the threads that are here already and it's hard to believe, but I can't find what I'm looking for! At least not a simple answer even though I would've thought it to come up fairly often.
So, my mom's pool has the Jandy JXi heater and it just stopped working one day. Her heater guy has been going thru the troubleshooting steps and had us order a new board, which we just did and I installed. Still doesn't work.

This is just the beginning for me as I just came to town last week. I hadn't looked at it before this day.
Anyway, after a minute or two the heater gave me an error saying "check Ign steps" and I noticed the fenwal flashing one time. That indicates air flow sensor is not good.
So this is what I need to know please...
How do I check to see if the airflow sensor is working right? That's it... All I want to know. (For now at least!)
Thanks, in advance for your help!

Welcome to TFP.

Gently blow into the tube connected to the Air Flow Switch and check with an ohmmeter if the switch electrically closes.

Workbook JXi Pool&Spa Heater is a training manual for pool repairmen.

Also check the ignitor. Remove and inspect it. Look in the ignitor hole for water. Do you hear the heater try to start? Do you smell gas? Firing the parts cannon at the heater is going to cost you a lot of money. The Fenwall is the best source for troubleshooting.
