other day I had my water tested at a PS ...
they claim that my copper is at 2.8ppm they recommend I do a chemical treatment
put a CuLator in my skimmer and 3 cap fulls of metal free my pump has been running for 48 hours

in your opinion.... can I swim in my pool

I have to say, I'd be very suspicious of your copper level was actually that high. I suspect there would be all kinds of stain in your pool at that point. We usually start to get concerned when copper is at about 0..3 - 0.5 ppm. I can't imagine actually having copper at close to 3.0. Plus, remember this is a pool store telling you this right? We know how accurate their testing is already. Their metals testing isn't much better than their other tests.

If you were to have copper, how did it get there? An old heater element or lots of pool store copper-based products? Have you seen the link below?
