Just ordered the reccomended test kit

Way to go John !!! Even if the stores were at all accurate (which they are not), you need to test when you need to test. Not when the store happens to be open and you are already out running errands. It doesn’t work if you have an inclination something isn’t right at 7pm on a Tuesday night.

Now you are covered whenever you need to be.

I'm sure it'll be very convenient! Glad to not have to rely on test strip anymore. Haha!

Update here:

5.4ppm fc
0.0ppm cc
60ppm CYA
7.7ph
240 TA
300CH

Definitely need to work on bringing the TA down. Seems like test strip failed me once again. Glad to have accurate testing now, though!

Looks good. Never allow your FC to drop below 5 PPM. Your daily target should be between 8 to 9 PPM this time of year.

Your TA is a bit high. Aeration along with MA additions will help to keep it under control. Lower Total Alkalinity - Trouble Free Pool

When testing FC, use a 10 mL sample. Use one scoop of powder. Each drop of R-0871 will count as 0.5 PPM. You'll save reagents.

Thanks so much for the tips! Regarding the FC level, I added some liquid chlorine to it after testing. It sure does burn off fast this time of year!

Really appreciate the help!

True. You'll probably use somewhere between 2 to 4 PPM FC this time of year. A few days of testing and you'll get to know your pool.
