Just opening- pool GREEN! Help!

We dropped the ball. We took the cover off to early and it took much longer than expected to get the pool filled high enough to run. In that time, the pool turned green! It’s running now, how many gallons of shock would you start off with?!

Post a full set of water chemistry test results from your own kit.

Add 5 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine now. Can be revised once we have test results.

Thanks- we poured 2 gallons of shock and let it run overnight- today it’s blue but cloudy- I do need to vacuum it again

You need a FAS-DPD test kit for FC to do a SLAM.

Started SLAM. I added CYA last night and today it looks just below 30, should I wait till tmrw to add more?

Free chlorine was 8.5
Cc was 2.5
Ph was 7.2

I added 2 gallons of shock and today
Free chlorine is 13.
CC is 0
Oh is now 8.2 (not accurate right? Should I expect this to go back down on its own after the slam?)

Do I just need to keep chlorine level up over 12 until pool looks clear?

The stabilizer you added, what amount of CYA should that have added to your pool?

Always wait a couple days before testing CYA after adding stabilizer.
