First of all, I must commend my PB’s electricians for the very neat work they did. All the wires were bundled up nice and tidy with zip ties. It was a very clean installation. However, they stowed all the extra length of my SWG cord tightly next to my control panel making it impossible to take out my SWG to inspect it. After I freed the cord from its zip tie prison, I tried to pull it through the rest of them but that wasn’t possible as some were so tight I couldn’t pull it through, so I had cut a bunch of them to free up enough slack to pull out my SWG.
I finally was able to remove and inspect the cell. It looked great. I couldn’t see any deposits but I did flush it with some water to make sure it was free of debris. All was good and I reinstalled it. It took moar time carefully cutting zip ties!!!
Anyway, a few questions. One, I did not lube the gaskets. I didn’t have any at the house. Will it be fine? I didn’t see any leaks after reinstalling. Two, am I correct to assume that as long as my chemistry is properly maintained, I should never see any buildup on salt cell? I hope to never have to clean it with acid so I can have that thing last as long as possible. As always, thanks for any input!
