Hi all, I just got my first TFP test kit and I'm wondering about the CYA mixing bottle... Should I cut a bit off the top of the bottle to open it for release or use a brad nail to poke through? I want to make sure I'm not opening it too much and ruin it before even getting started. TIA

Post a picture of what you mean. You should just be unscrewing the cap and not cutting anything. Sounds like a mixup of some kind.
You have to cut the tip.
I use a sheetrock knife at a 45 degree angle. I cut a few small shavings until I reach the opening. It makes it easier to not overshoot the lines while squeezing the mix.

I also had to cut the tip off the top after removing the red cap. The size of the hole isn't super important. You'll put the cap on to mix, and then dispense it into the tube, stoping at each line on the tube to see if the dot disappears. Smaller is better, as it gives you more control, but not critical at all.
Ah, I didnt get one in my TF kit so I must have just grabbed the K2006 bottle that has a screw cap a lnd a flip up nozzle.

Since you are not counting drops, it does not really matter what size the opening is... within reason.
Just cut the tip off.

Hope not too late to respond but do not cut past that little ridge. That is what holds the Red Cap on.
