Hi,got the test kit, very impressed and easy to follow instructions.
So my poo is cloudy if I disturb the bottom. It has some green stuff accumulated on the bottom that does not feel like sand. It's more like dust. I have been bleaching the life out of it, but it's staying green. Well, I ran
The test and here are my results:
pH 7.5
FC 8
0 CC
CYA 60

Please help! In the meantime, I am going to fish out a the seeds from the
Popcorn tree in our backyard..uuugh

Btw,It's a 24x52 AG pool, not saltwater.

This is an easy one! :p

With CYA of 60, shock level is 24 FC. You're not even close to that at 8 FC. You might be killing a lot of algae, but not all of it, and not the hardiest strains. So they keep coming back and you keep killing them and thus you have an endless supply of dead algae to cloud your water. So you need to elevate the FC to 24.

That's only the start of it, though. The whole thing is called a SLAM Process. Shock level and maintain. It's the AM part you've been neglecting. Read through those directions and follow them to a tee and the pool will clear up.

So I will add 3 gallons of 10% chlorine tonight. I just backwashed, vacuumed, backwashed and now my little Hayward shark vacuum is doing the middle that I can't reach with my manual
Vacuum. After that I ll add the chlorine
So I guess we are not swimming this weekend..well it's raining till Tues here in hot Mobile, Alabama anyhow
